As delicious as food is, cooking isn’t always all fun and games—sometimes it’s an all-out war. During these wars, it’s not uncommon to see each chef taking cover in their own kitchen, leaving only when they need to grab another ingredient. Sometimes these chefs are as young as 10 years old. But in the end, the war is always for the good of everyone; each chef walks away with a dazzling plate of food in hopes of winning over the judges.
If you love cooking shows like Iron Chef and Chopped, you’ll absolutely love this game. Chef Wars by Arrow’s Edge takes place right in the middle of a cooking competition show with plenty of kitchenware, chefs, and delicious food.
If you can take the heat, you could win the filet mignon of slot prizes.
Chef Wars is a 5-reel, 3-row slot agme with 20 paylines. These lines can be toggled on and off using the lines setting in the bottom-left corner of the game. Your bet amount is always multiplied by the number of active paylines. There is an autoplay button, but it looks like it may have been disabled given the blank interface when you click the button.
The symbols in Chef Wars are a mix of classic and food-related symbols. The lower tier of items pays for matches of 3 or more on a payline. From worst to best, these symbols are: 9 and 10, J and Q, K and A, square plate of food, and dessert. The highest reward from these symbols is 500. The ham dinner and competitor symbols both pay out when you land 2 or more on a payline, although the reward is very small.
The wild symbol is a plate with a cover and it can substitute for any symbols on the same payline except the trophy symbol. The trophy symbol is the scatter in this game; when you land 3 or more of these anywhere on the board, you’ll trigger the bonus game. In this game, you have 8 plates to choose from, each of which can win you up to 1,000x your original bet. You get to keep picking plates until all 8 have been selected, although some may be near-empty if you picked in the wrong order.

If you’re just looking to try Chef Wars out for free on your desktop PC or laptop, you won’t have any problems. A simple Google search for “Chef Wars” will give you plenty of options for playing this game online without even having to register for an account. Many of these sites will also let you play for money, but you’ll have to sign up for an account with them first.
Things are a bit more difficult for mobile players. Since this game—and most slot games—uses Adobe Flash Player, you can’t play it on your smartphone’s browser. Aside from that, there is no downloadable mobile version of the game available.
Chef Wars is a very standard 5×3 slot game in pretty much every way. It offers plenty of bet customization which is always nice, and there are scatter and wild symbols just like you’d expect. One nice thing about this game is The Winning Dish bonus game where you get to choose from 8 different platters to reveal prizes. The best part is that you always get to choose all 8 platters and the rewards are generally pretty nice.
A free spins feature would have been nice to see, but it’s not a make or break feature. It’s also unfortunate that the autoplay button doesn’t seem to work since manually spinning the reels each time can be a bit of a hassle.
This is a great game for cooking show lovers, and also a solid choice for anyone looking for a basic 5×3 slot game with a nice bonus round
