Jackpot Vault, which is sometimes known as “Jackpot Vault Fine Diamonds,” is a Bally Technologies slot machine. Offering 243 ways to win, its design is notable similar to the company’s previous hit, 88 Fortunes (even using the same background music).
It should be noted that Fine Diamonds isn’t the only game available in this line of slots. Bally also makes Jackpot Vault: Striking Stars, although the overall design is remarkably similar.
Instead on wagering on individual paylines, the player is asked to select a bet level. The more expensive the level, the more valuable the symbols that are included on the reels. Basic icons such as poker values are available at all levels, but top symbols such as the red rose and red-tinged panther require a higher level of financial commitment.
No matter which slot machine you sit in front of, you should always start by checking out the game’s pay table. This handy summary provides information on all the game’s symbols, as well as their value when part of a winning combination.
The following examples are based on a wager of 250 credits. Of course, keep in mind that increasing the size of the bet results in even greater prizes.
All pays, except diamond pays, are multiplied by the game’s bet multiplier. Diamond pays are multiplied by the total credits wagered.
In order to unlock this feature, the player must get three or more diamond symbols on adjacent reels. This results in eight free spins being awarded, and the diamonds substitute for all icons except the vault.
During each free spin, the number of diamonds appearing on the screen directly impacts the payout by adding a multiplier. This applies to all pays for the spin, not just those involving the diamond icon.
The multipliers include the following:
The multipliers listed above don’t apply to the Jackpot Vault feature pays. The player can earn five extra free games each time three or more diamonds show up during a spin.
When one or more vault symbols appear on the reels, this feature may be activated. If so, the player receives one pick for each vault icon on the triggering screen.
The player is then presented with six symbols representing stacked gold bars. They must press one of these to reveal the prize underneath, and this can include either instant credits or one of the game’s progressive jackpots.
This round continues until the player has used all their picks. At this point, the player receives their cash prize just before being returned to the base game.
One of the more appealing features of this slot is the presence of four progressive jackpots. As an added bonus, the Vault Round makes it possible to win multiple progressives in quick succession.
The following are the four types of progressives, as well as sample payouts observed during one of my recent trips to a land-based casino:
While the payouts aren’t as high as those found in a number of progressive machines, Bally’s Jackpot Vault slots machine is still a solid addition to their growing list of titles. The betting system may not be to the liking of low rollers, but the multipliers and bonuses compensate for this with a steady stream of winning opportunities.
