There’s always been something fascinating about banks; the amount of money in one building, the incredibly professional atmosphere, the teller looking at you in disbelief as you withdraw your last $7.13 to buy a burrito for lunch… Okay, maybe not that last one. But for most of us, banks are an alluring yet impenetrable fortress responsible for the one thing that’s more important than anything else in modern society: our money.
If you’ve ever wanted to find your way into a highly skilled team of bank robbers, now’s your chance. Well, not exactly. The Action Bank slot game from Barcrest is as close as you can get without going to prison, though. Spin your way to huge prizes and work to unlock the vault for the ultimate reward.
Action Bank is, for the most part, a pretty standard slot game. There are 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines. Unlike in many slot games, the paylines can’t be toggled on and off. Instead, clicking the numbered squares on either side of the reels will show you that payline. The bet setting is for your bet per line so the number is always multiplied by 20; the minimum bet per line is 0.01 and the maximum bet is 400.00.
One interesting part about Action Bank is the symbols; there are only a few. The X is the lowest paying, then the bar symbol followed by the 7. The largest payout you can get from these symbols is 500x your bet per line for matching five 7 symbols. However, there are some other features involving the symbols that makes this game a bit more interesting.
The bank vault bonus symbol triggers free spins where you’ll have a chance at a huge prize. If you land 5 of these symbols scatter on the reels, you’ll get free spins and a chance at the Big Bank Bonus. Landing 5 more scatter symbols during your free spins will trigger more free spins. There are also 3 double symbols on the first reel that double the prize for wins containing that symbol.
If you happen to land the O symbol (the loser, essentially), Action Bank will do its best to set things right. Since they don’t pay anything, all O symbols have a chance of turning into a vault symbol to help you trigger the bonus. This won’t always happen, but when it does it will occur after a spin.

As far as trying Action Bank for free online, there’s some good news and some bad news. The game is available for free, but you may have trouble connecting from an American or Canadian IP address. You can, however, use a proxy to bypass this restriction.
One of the unfortunate parts about playing this game online is that it’s not available for mobile devices. Instead, you’ll have to stick to playing Action Bank on your desktop PC or laptop unless you can find an online casino that offers a mobile-friendly version of the game.
So is Action Bank the real deal, or is Barcrest simply trying to rob you of your hard-earned dough? That depends on what you’re looking for in a slot game. One thing’s for certain about Action Bank—it’s different. The free spins feature has a nice added touch in the Big Bank Bonus feature, and the losing O symbols give you a shot at redemption and a better chance of triggering the bonus.
The design is by far the worst part of Action Bank. The sounds aren’t bad. What’s really difficult is the fact that things just look a bit crowded and odd. The reels nearly cover the entire game which makes it look squished together.
If graphics and production aren’t the biggest draws for you, you may enjoy Action Bank. There are some cool features and opportunities for big wins. But still, the design is definitely a bit overcrowded.
