Jackpot Jamba is a festive video slot game with cartoon animation and a jazz piano soundtrack. Designed by Betsoft, this game turns out lots of small wins, as well as a bonus game and progressive jackpot. It sticks to its celebratory theme with bright party symbols and perky sound effects. The slot is simple to learn, but one must figure it out on one’s own because the game’s information screen is short on gameplay matters. Partying with Jackpot Jamba can be satisfied in paid or free modes on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
The slot has five reels and three rows, resulting in nine paylines, with a maximum bet of five per line. The balance, bet and win credit fields are displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen. Bets are customizable using the “Choose Coin”, “Select Lines” and “Bet Per Line” buttons, which come with clingand boing sound effects.
“Spin” sets of single plays. “Bet Max” raises the per line bet to five and then gives the reels a fling with one click. The game is missing an automatic spins option, and a Turbo Mode, making gameplay slower than many other Betsoft slots.
The “View Payout” button takes the player to a screen displaying icons and their wins. But there is no explanation of how paylines and payouts actually work. Neglecting this in the design is odd because the game’s paylines function differently than in most other slots.
Wins occur frequently in Jackpot Jamba. Though three or more consecutive matching symbols are required for a payout, they are not required to line up from the left or right. They can appear anywhere on the payline as long as they are consecutive.
The Cherries symbol is the lone exception to the rule, as only two adjacent cherries are needed for a payout. Cherries are the most frequent and lowest paying of the symbols. The rest of the symbols are, in increasing payout value: Party 7, Gift Box, Plum, Noisemaker (or something more intimate), Party Hat, Red 7, Martini Glass and Jackpot Balloons.
The Party Hat doubles as the game’s wild symbol, standing in for every symbol other than the Jackpot Balloons.
Picking up five purple Party 7s on a payline fires up the bonus round. This click-me-style feature game simply requires the player to pop one of four colorful balloons for a prize.
Five Jackpot Balloons on a played payline wins the progressive jackpot, as long as the player has bet the maximum of five credits per line. The progressive rises with each spin, but provides little bonus beyond what the player would have won (per bet) without the playing the maximum.
The game is also missing a “Sound Off” button which would help when even the biggest jazz fan tires of the soundtrack and the same trumpet cue on every win. But the oversight of any sort of payout explanation is the game’s most noticeable hiccup, especially because the quantity of wins is its best feature.
There are payouts aplenty on this slot, usually happening on more than half the spins. This is due to the lax rules on where consecutive symbols need to occur. Yes, most of the “wins” are small, but they extend gameplay and keep the player’s optimism up.
Once a new player figures out why he or she keeps hearing that winning trumpet cue, the game is sure to amuse for some time. More aggressive gamers may wish for quicker gameplay options, though the frequency of the bonus game might offset that. Overall, Jackpot Jamba will attract any player looking for an upbeat slot.
