Side Bet Blackjack has the same gameplay and rules as your standard blackjack. 6 decks of 52-cards are used in this game, and the cards are reshuffled after every hand. The only difference is that this game is littered with side bets. There are 5 in total. The side bets give you an opportunity of getting an immediate win based on the first two cards you’ve been dealt. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose the hand. It will be paid out even if you bust. The side bets add another element of excitement to the game.

Choose a Table to Sit at

Much like in actual casinos, there are maximum and minimum bets at the various tables. You can choose to sit at a table with:

  • a 1.00 credit or €1.00 minimum and a 100.00 credit or €100.00 maximum
  • a 5.00 credit or €5.00 minimum and a 250.00 credit or €250.00 maximum
  • a 15.00 credit or €15.00 minimum and a 500.00 credit or €500.000 maximum

Side bets will also vary based on the table limit. At the lowest table limit possible, the minimum side bet required is also 1.00 credit or €1.00. However, the maximum side bet allowed is capped at 20.00 credits or €20.00.

How the Game Works and Rules of the Table

The primary goal in this game is to get a combined card value on a hand that is as close to 21 as possible. You are playing against the dealer. The numbered cards keep their numbered value. All face cards have a value of 10, and Aces have a value of 1 or 11. If you exceed 21, you bust and immediately fold your cards.

After placing a bet you’re comfortable with, the dealer will deal you two cards facing up. They will also deal themselves 1 card facing up and 1 card facing down. Based on the card that is facing up, speculate what the dealer has and compare that with your hand. You can choose:

  • to stand on your turn, which means that you are happy with your cards and no changes will be made
  • to hit, which gives you an extra card
  • to double down, which means you raise your stakes to double what you initially wagered and get one extra card
  • to split, which means you split a pair into two different hands

The dealer must draw on 16 and must stand on all 17s. You can double down on any two card. You can only split your card once, and you only get one extra card when splitting Aces.

There are 5 open positions at the table with 5 side bets to the side of each position. A minimum of 1 position must be played, but you can play all 5 positions if you wish.
